Is there an entry test? If so, what kind of test?

For students who do not have Grade 12 or an equivalent, they may be asked to do an entrance test for math and comprehension testing.

Why would I want a Culinary Career?

What is Second Career?

Second Career is an Ontario government program that helps you train for a new job. The objective of the Second Career program is to help unemployed or underemployed individuals, who do not have the required skills, obtain skills for employment. Click here to visit the ministry's website.

What are the qualifications for getting accepted into our program?

Students must apply and supply school transcripts. Local students must attend a personal interview. Foreign students must send in a completed application form and supplementary documents.

What is the Red Seal?

The Red Seal Program was established to provide greater mobility across Canada for skilled workers. Through the program, apprentices who have completed their training and certified journeypersons, are able to obtain a "Red Seal" endorsement on their Certificates of Qualification and Apprenticeship by successfully completing an Interprovincial Standards Examination.

The program encourages standardization of provincial and territorial apprenticeship training and certification programs. The "Red Seal" allows qualified tradepersons to practice the trade in any province or territory in Canada where the trade is designated without having to write further examinations. To date, there are 45 trades included in the Red Seal Program on a national basis.

What is the CCC Designation?

The Certified Chef de Cuisine (CCC) designation is the highest professional culinary recognition and accreditation in Canada. It represents the culmination of the highest standards of managerial and administrative responsibilities, culinary skills and dedication to the cooking profession.
